Product Information

All fabric has a grain to it - the way the threads run.  If you cut on the straight grain, you are cutting so the threads run straight.  If you cut on the bias, you're cutting the threads on a 45 degree angle.  Cutting on the angle allows the fibers to stretch more and gives you a nice stretch to your bias tape which is great for projects like curves, garments, or hair bows!

Bias Tape is when the strips of fabric that have been cut on the bias are then folded in half towards the middle. Double fold bias is folded in half again. The size listed (either 1/2" or 1") is the FINISHED width of the bias tape.

Bias Quilt Binding are strips cut on the bias that are folded in half once, top to bottom. This is traditionally used for quilt binding but also can be used in other projects. Our quilt binding is cut at 2.5" with a finished width of 1.25".

The size listed (either 1/2" or 1") is the FINISHED width of the bias tape.
