The width listed is the size of the finished product - so 1/2" double fold bias tape is almost 2" when opened all the way up, 1.25" bias binding is 2.5" wide when opened, etc. Single fold bias tape is available by custom order.

Bias Quilt Binding: Bias binding is cut at 2.5" and folded in half, top to bottom. To purchase, choose a 1.25" binding option and then change the quantity to however many yards you need. Your order will ship as one consecutive piece. For example if you add 1 8-yard binding and 2 1-yard bindings to your cart (of the same fabric) you will receive 1 10-yard roll of binding. All binding and bias tapes are finished with mitered seams and come rolled and ready to use!

What's the difference? All options are cut on the bias but the edges of bias tape are folded in toward the center and then folded in half again. Bias binding (primarily used for piping and quilt binding) is folded in half once.
