Mid-Year Review
Hot dang, we are alreadyhalfway through the year! This has been my first year of Bessie Pearl where BOTH of my kids have been in school all day and it’s been life changing for my business. So, I thought it would be fun to take a minute and see what all Bessie Pearl has accomplished so far in 2024.
2024 by the numbers (so far!):
- We helped overOVER 1,000 sewists finish their projects faster and with less frustration by using Bessie Pearl bindings. Who-hoo!! Which means I also printed out almost1,000 packing labels, taped on said packing labels and used inserted almost1,000 stickers in tothoseorders, ha!
- Those customers have come from10countries and over400cities! (I always love seeing where my customers are ordering from – did you know there is a Beverly Hills in Michigan? I cannot make this stuff up.)
- I traveled12 miles to Quilt Con (it’s pretty great when Quilt Con comes to where you live!) and 685 miles to Quilt Week in Paducah, KY had the most fun seeing so many of you and gave out617 business cards.
- Went through over50 bolts of fabric from 3 different distributors
- Burned out1 iron (6 months is the average life span of one of my irons)
- Took over650 photos for products, social media and the website
- Designed our first exclusive fabric line with 4 styles (I think this is the one that I'm most proud of).
- Used6,000yards of thread
- Listened to14 audio books while I was sewing
- Watched all8 seasons of Royal Pains - thank goodness for nostalgia tv.
- Spent 20.5 hours painting thedisplay boardsfor my vendor booth – but it felt like an eternity - you can watch it all in 10 seconds here.
So what’s next? Well, I'm so glad you asked.
Here’s what I’m planning for the rest of 2024:
- More engagement withYOU! I have the best customers but I’m not the most consistent with reaching out and communicating with you. Coming this fall you can expect to hear from me more and I can’t wait to hear from you, see what you're making and cheer you on!
- 4new styles launching NEXT WEEK! (for a certain holiday that features a man in a red suit, if you get my drift)
- Let's be honest, I’ll probably have to buy at least1new iron, haha!
- 3bag pattern kits! This was something I was hoping to make happen this summer, but I just haven't found the time to do it well. But coming this fall I’m going to be kitting some bag patterns that I think you guys will love.
That’s it – at least for now! While I’m a planner in real life, I tend to be a bit more flexible with my business so who knows what other awesomeness will happen! Stick around to find out.
Happy sewing,
Karen
